Privacy policy
Who we are
Warrenpoint Web Design is an independent web design business run by Charlie, based in Warrenpoint, Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. When we refer to "we", "us", or "our", we mean Warrenpoint Web Design.
What information we collect
When you use the contact form or email us, we collect:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Email address
- Website address
- Budget range, if you choose one
- Any information you provide in your message
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects information about your visit: the pages you view, how long you stay, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. It stores a random ID in a cookie so it can tell repeat visits apart. This is personal data, so we only collect it with your consent. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote — based on your consent (the tick box on the form) and on taking steps you've asked for before a contract.
- To deliver work you've hired us for — because it's needed to perform our contract with you.
- To understand how the website is used — only if you accept analytics cookies.
We will never sell your information or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Our email provider, which delivers and stores contact form messages
- Vercel, which hosts this website and handles form submissions
- Google, for Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies
Vercel and Google may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: if we don't go on to work together, we delete your enquiry within 12 months.
- Clients: we keep project and billing records for as long as tax law requires (usually six years).
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps visit data for no longer than 14 months.
Keeping it safe
Contact form submissions are sent by encrypted email and stored in our email system. We take reasonable steps to protect your data and limit who can access it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email charlie@warrenpointwebdesign.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website doesn't set any cookies unless you accept analytics. If you do, Google Analytics sets two cookies:
_ga— tells visitors apart. Expires after 2 years._ga_<ID>— remembers your current visit. Expires after 2 years.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so we don't ask on every page. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Declining deletes the analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
